Twelve African startups secured seed funding totaling $28M following their appearances at our Nairobi showcase.

Twelve African technology startups secured a combined $28 million in seed and pre-Series A funding following their showcase presentations at the FDI Africa Investment Forum held in Nairobi last month.

The cohort, selected from over 400 applicants across 32 African countries, presented to an audience of 200 registered investors including venture capital firms, corporate venture arms, and family offices from Europe, the Gulf, and Asia.

Standout performers included a Lagos-based agricultural fintech that secured $8 million to expand its lending platform for smallholder farmers, and a Nairobi-headquartered healthtech startup that raised $6.5 million to scale its telemedicine infrastructure across East Africa.

The showcase format — combining structured pitch sessions with one-on-one investor meetings and due diligence facilitation — has become a model for connecting African innovation with international capital. FDI Events plans to expand the programme to three additional African cities in 2026.
